Rare

Rare,
like gold dust,
like a diamond in the sky,
but palpable and real,
and held within
the arms of family.

Marked by a quality;
uncertain,
unclear,
but exceptional no less.
Inimitable perhaps and
perfectly imperfect.

Precious.
Invaluable.
Loved.
And yet few seek them out;
Not actively
nor mindfully.

Born to the
blissfully unaware,
to the uninitiated,
to those who
dream and hope
for more.

Lives turned
upside down
and
roundabout
until a new
true is found.

So few exist,
the miles between them far and wide,
but a community holds them
together
as tightly as their
faulty double helices.

Rare is real
and heartbreakingly
bittersweet,
but loved none the less,
a true blessing in
disguise.

Life is lived, lessons are learnt:
treasure the rare -
they will teach
us all how to live a life of
love and
wonderment.

Be in awe of rare.
